so i learnrd a little bit yesterday...

on my truck, the little valve at the bottom of my radiator must be opened using the following procedure:

1) turn 1/4-turn ccw
2) turn another 1/4-turn ccw while pulling the handle outward from the valve base (the valve will pull away about 0.25 inches)
3) turn 1/8-turn ccw

it is the last little turn which let's the fluid drain.

i know y'all have been waiting on pins and needles for this information, so i'm sorry it took so long for me to post. Mr. Green

Well I'll be dang. Didn't know it was that complicated.

I drained mine on my F350, but the plug was plastic, I got it out fine, but of course I broke it off when tightening it. Funny thing is I think Ford expected this problem with a weak plastic plug, so the inside of the plug has an allen wrench hole. Mine didn't leak after it broke, so I said f it and just left it.

Crazy radiator stories in this thread...
